Four former Netflix executives in the UK found new British company Juno Studios

Bec Mortimer, Fiona Lamptey, Amber Taylor and Vinnie Shergill, four former Netflix executives with decades of combined entertainment experience and involvement in some of the world’s most successful shows, have joined forces to create Juno Studios.

The new company, headquartered in London, is described as an “innovative entertainment studio” with production capabilities and creative expertise in development, production, distribution and marketing.

“Our collective storytelling expertise spans development, production, marketing and distribution, and we’re excited to offer our entertainment experience to our partners,” the founders said in a joint statement. “Juno Studios operates as an end-to-end studio with a collaborative cross-platform approach, allowing us to engage audiences in the spaces they already love. We partner with writers, filmmakers, on-screen talent, creators, cultural organizations and brands who care about longevity and legacy; who want to provide value to audiences by fostering belonging.”

The four added: “Juno Studios will work with our incredible network to create an exciting and sustainable future of entertainment where creativity and creators can thrive. We are also developing our own slate of projects so that new stories are told and fresh voices are heard.”

Co-founder and marketing expert Mortimer, who was responsible for assembling the Juno team, founded Netflix’s first international office in the UK and has held senior roles at Warner Bros, Universal and Entertainment One, where he helped build successful fan bases for series such as Harry Potter, the Twilight series and Sex Education.

BAFTA-winning film and television executive Lamptey’s focus at Juno will be on partnerships with writers, filmmakers, producers, showrunners and creative minds behind the camera. Lamptey served as director of British features at Netflix from 2020-2023, where she led the development and production of the BAFTA-nominated The Wonder starring Florence Pugh, the crime thriller I Came By from Babak Anvari, The Kitchen, a collaboration co-directed by Daniel Kaluuya and Kibwe Tavares, Scoop, the dramatic retelling of the infamous Prince Andrew interview, and Misan Harriman’s 2024 Oscar-nominated The After.

Taylor was Netflix UK’s first female marketing hire and spent nearly a decade at the streamer, leading cross-channel film, series and brand campaigns. She has 20 years of marketing and media experience in UK and global campaigns at Netflix, 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. She has worked on the Harry Potter, Marvel and DC universes, as well as kids and family blockbusters and some of the UK’s biggest entertainment campaigns, including The Crown, James Bond and Avatar.

Shergill headed casting at Netflix EMEA and was head of creative diversity at BBC Studios where she worked with on-screen talent and creators. With an extensive network spanning the UK, US and EMEA, Vinnie has worked with a wide range of talent on both scripted and unscripted projects and was a named recipient of Strictly Come Dancing’s inaugural BAFTA TV Award for Best Entertainment Programme in recognition of her role in the show’s success. With her expertise in talent relations, Shergill has also worked on a number of shows for Comic Relief/Sport Relief for the BBC including The Great British Celebrity Bake Off and Let’s Dance.
