Website claims Midland is the city where Michigan residents should retire

Although many people who have lived in Michigan their entire lives will retire in a warmer state like Florida, many people continue to call Michigan home even after they retire from the workforce. This is no surprise considering how many beautiful lakefront properties there are in Michigan for people to retire in.

But which city or town is the best place to retire? That will always be up for debate, considering whether or not retirees still have family in the state. One website has apparently identified the best city in Michigan for retirement, which everyone should apparently go to.

How did you determine the results?

According to insurify.com, they concluded that Midland was the best city for retirement using the following method:

Data scientists at Insurify, a home insurance comparison website, analyzed both proprietary and public data to determine the best cities for retirement in 2021. They ranked U.S. cities based on a composite score of factors, including housing affordability, life expectancy, access to healthcare, low property and violent crime rates, and driver and pedestrian safety.

Midland…really?

I don’t know about you, but I just don’t think people see Midland as a place they want to retire. Why wouldn’t you want to retire on one of the Great Lakes or at a resort town?

Don’t get me wrong, Midland is beautiful, but do people really want to retire there? Something tells me these people have never been to Michigan.

Here are the best cities in Michigan to retire – ranked

There is a list designed to help people in Michigan find the best places to retire. We have of course taken that list into consideration, but have also added our own twist and included some of the best places to live right here in the state of Michigan.
