Nashville singer-songwriter performs Friday at Melba Performing Arts Center

Nashville singer-songwriter Nicole Witt – a native of Springfield, Missouri – will perform at the Melba Performing Arts Center in Houston on Friday, June 28.

Witt is a nationally touring, award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for her soaring melodies and clever turns of phrase. She just released her first EP, Clear, and celebrated with a sold-out release show in Nashville.

Her third single, Bourbon, and its official video were featured on the Country Network and CMT, and reached #3 on CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown. Her fifth single, Kiss (ft. John Paul White), also reached #3 on CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown. Witt just released her latest single, If It Ain’t With You, on February 16, and its official video premiered live worldwide on CMT.com.

She has written songs for artists such as George Strait, Lee Brice, Rodney Atkins, Aaron Goodvin, Meghan Patrick, Terri Clark, Lauren Alaina, Balsam Range, Mandisa, Ellie Holcomb, and others. In 2011, Witt received the International Bluegrass Song of the Year Award for Balsam Range’s “Trains I Missed.” In 2014, she was nominated for a Dove/GMA Award for Country Song of the Year. Her song “Brothers of the Highway,” recorded by George Strait, was on his CMA and Grammy award-winning Album of the Year, Troubadour. She has turned to writing songs for film and television, with song credits on shows such as “Reign,” “American Idol,” and the short film score called Black Mountain. Witt co-wrote “You Ain’t” by Canadian country star Aaron Goodvin ft. (Meghan Patrick), which peaked at #18 on the Canadian Country charts.

Witt has spent the last 10 years writing and touring while building a small business as an artist, songwriter and mentor. She is a founding member of the superstar band Six One Five Collective. Their song “Kindness” was featured on American Idol this past March. They just released their first single of the year, Brothers of the Highway, which hits radio on March 18. The official video was just released on CMT.com. Over the last three years, she has performed over 200 shows across the country and the world, opening for Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Bacon Bros and more.
