Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller reunite for new series

Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller are ready to share the screen again!

Nineteen years after the premiere of Prison breakout, Purcell, 54, and Miller, 52, will star together again in the upcoming series Relapse, diversity reported. Purcell also shared the news on his Instagram page.

According to an official logline shared by the outlet, the series, written and executive produced by Scott Rosenbaum, “follows a highly trained, privately contracted team of agents as they rescue hostages in some of the most exotic and equally dangerous locations on Earth.”

Inspired by “the life of a real intelligence officer who is still active in the field today,” Purcell also serves as an executive producer on the series, along with his wife Tish Cyrus and Dannah Axelrod Summers of HopeTown Entertainment.

Prison breakout, The series, which originally aired on Fox for four seasons from 2005 to 2009, featured Purcell and Miller as brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, respectively. Following the release of a television movie titled The last break, The show was revived for a fifth season in 2017.

Although there were rumors that the series would return for a sixth season, former Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier announced in August 2019 that there were no plans for a revival.

“There is currently no plan to revive Prison breakout or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come up with a story that they feel it’s the right time to tell, we’re happy to listen to them because those are franchises that I’m so proud of and I feel so lucky to have in our stable,” Collier said at the time.

Since then, Purcell and Miller have appeared together on screen in The Lightning And Legends of Tomorrow.

Purcell’s collaboration with his wife comes almost a year after their wedding in August 2023.

“We’re so happy,” Cyrus told PEOPLE when discussing her marriage in February. “He just encourages me to fly. He just says, ‘You’re the funniest, you’re the prettiest, you’re the sweetest, you’re this – just show the world who you are.’ It’s just given me a strength that I’ve never felt before. It’s just been amazing for me.”
