Netflix live-action series ONE PIECE announces cast for Baroque Works Agents in season 2

With the production of season 2 of the live-action series from Netflix One piece While the series is already underway, the streaming service has announced the cast of actors who will bring the Baroque Works Agents to life on screen.

As previously hinted, Season 2 of the live-action series will follow the Arabasta arc of the anime series, which features the crime syndicate Baroque Works. Netflix announced today that we now know the actors who will play Mr. 3, Miss Valentine, Mr. 5, and Mr. 9.

  • Mr 3 played by David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil)
  • Miss Valentine played by Jazzara Jaslyn (lioness)
  • Mr 5 played by Camrus Johnson (Batwoman)
  • Mr 9 played by Daniel Lasker (Raised by wolves)

Baroque Works was mentioned early on in a scene in the first season when Zoro killed a red-headed Mr. 7. With the reveal of four more characters, it seems like the series will also showcase the rest of the holiday-themed partners. Interestingly, the mysterious leader of the group, Mr. 0, is not mentioned.

Both Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine were both mentioned in a previous casting call last month. Besides these two characters, there were also calls for Nico Robin, Smoker, and Tashigi. Nico Robin, also referred to as “Miss All Sunday” in the Arabasta Arc, served as the vice president of Baroque Works and worked alongside the organization’s president, Mr. 0 (the ex-warlord: Crocodile).

Recently, another casting call was released for Miss Goldenweek, an agent of Baroque Works and partner of Mr. 3. Also known as the “Flag Bearer of Freedom”, she is the secondary antagonist in the Little Garden arc.

At this point, it is almost confirmed that season 2 of One piece will follow the Arabasta Arc. Filming for the highly anticipated second season began this month and is reportedly set to premiere in 2025.

The first season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece on Netflix premiered on August 31, 2023. The eight-episode first season received rave reviews from critics and fans alike, sitting at 85% on Rotten Tomatoes and having an even more impressive audience rating of 95%.

“One Piece captures the essence of its beloved source material with a charming, generous adaptation that should entertain longtime fans as well as patient newcomers,” is the consensus of the critics.

Just weeks after its debut, Netflix renewed the series for a second season. It is believed that season 2 will consist of eight episodes, the same number as the first season.
