Frontman of Crazy Town Shifty ShellshockThe sudden death of … is under investigation, and law enforcement sources have told us that police are looking into the possibility of a fatal drug overdose.
We’re told police and firefighters responded to Shifty’s Los Angeles-area home Monday afternoon after someone passed by the house and found his body on the ground.
According to our sources, drug paraphernalia and a lighter were found near the body, which is why police believe the death may have been due to an overdose.
We’re told Shifty – whose real name was Seth Binzer – was believed to have been dead for more than 24 hours before his body was found.
As we reported … the Los Angeles County Coroner announced Seth’s deathand investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
According to our sources, the case will now be handled by the coroner, who will determine the cause and manner of death.
An autopsy was performed, but the cause of death is listed as “deferred,” meaning nothing can be confirmed until the results of the toxicology report are available.
By the way, Seth recently announced that he was sober and on the road to recovery. He was only 49.
