The divorce of Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert is finalized

The end of Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s marriage is official. The former couple has finalized their divorce after filing for divorce last year.

A judge in Fulton County Court in Georgia has ruled that Taylor will receive four marital properties valued at about $10 million. She will also be allowed to keep her cars and jewelry and will retain ownership of her companies Taylormade and The Aunties, according to documents obtained by The Jasmine Brand.

Shumpert, a former NBA champion and reality star, was ordered to make a “one-time seven-figure payment” to Taylor. He will keep his condo in Miami and his residences in South Georgia and Decatur. In addition, Shumpert must pay Taylor $8,000 a month in child support and cover private school tuition for their two daughters. He will also keep his share of investments in her business ventures, although exact details of those investments were not disclosed.

In case you missed it, the couple’s divorce came to light in September 2023 after Taylor confirmed the split. However, legal documents indicate that the divorce was actually filed in January of that year. Taylor accused Shumpert of “extreme emotional and psychological abuse.” She claimed that her rising fame upset Shumpert, which led her to “intentionally dim her lights so her husband could have a harmonious and peaceful marriage.” Taylor also stated that she turned down various acting roles and other opportunities because Shumpert “didn’t want her to work,” yet he complained when she stopped working after giving birth to their child.

Two months after the divorce was announced, Shumpert issued a statement through his attorney expressing his hope that the parties and their attorneys could “work toward a fair resolution while always keeping the best interests of the children in mind.”

Taylor and Shumpert married in 2016, a year after the birth of their eldest daughter, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert. Their second daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, was born in 2020.
