Lainey Wilson announces new song “4x4xU” out next week and reveals full “Whirlwind” tracklist

Lainey Wilson announced today that a new single called “4x4xU” will be released everywhere next Thursday, July 4. It is the third song from her upcoming Whirlwind album. She has already released “Country’s Cool Again” and “Hang Tight Honey”.

Co-written by Wilson with Jon Decious and Aaron Raitiere, “4x4xU” is a little different from what we’ve heard before, as it’s a stripped-back, deeply personal ballad that focuses on “the theme of finding comfort in a loved one amidst life’s whirlwinds.”

The two songs mentioned above are super upbeat, kind of funky and fun, so I’m really excited to hear “4x4xU” and a slightly different side of Lainey.

In addition, the Louisiana native today released the full tracklist of 14 songs for her new album, which also includes the already fan-favorite song with Miranda Lambert. “Good horses.” Lainey says writing this album helped her “stay grounded in ways you can hardly imagine,” and it brought her back to her roots and her deepest identity:

“Writing and recording these 14 songs over the last few years has helped me stay grounded in ways you never thought possible.

This album brought me back to my roots and made me feel at home in times when I couldn’t have been further away. And my greatest hope is that it gives you the same sense of comfort that it did for me.

“Whirlwind” is yours on August 23rd and surprise: 4x4xU is coming out on July 4th!”
