PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A graduate of Taconic High School in Pittsfield received a scholarship from the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts.

Shea Coe is Berkshire County’s first Ad Club Scholar in quite some time and plans to attend Salem State University to study graphic design. Coe received a check for $1,000 from Taconic High School’s Advertising Club for her academic achievements and extracurricular volunteer efforts.

Coe cuts and stacks firewood at Williams Lumber in Lee, which made a noticeable impression on scholarship committee members, according to the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts.

“Shea is not afraid to get her hands dirty and work hard – an attitude that will serve her well in life,” said Scholarship Committee Chairman David Cecchi.

The Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts is the premier organization for marketing and communications professionals in Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut. They support future generations of creative professionals with an annual merit-based scholarship awarded to a deserving Western Massachusetts student pursuing a career in advertising, communications, marketing, graphic design or related industries.
