Hillary Rodham Clinton and her new memoirs

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s next book will be published soon.

On Tuesday, June 25, the former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate announced that her book Something lost, something gained: reflections on life, love and freedom coming this fall.

The upcoming novel is titled “Hillary as You’ve Never Seen Her Before,” the press release states. “It offers a glimpse into her closest friendships and her long-standing marriage, as well as her unvarnished view of politics, democracy, the threats we face and the future that lies within our grasp.”

“Something Lost, Something Gained” by Hillary Rodham Clinton

Priscilla Painton, editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster, praised the new book, comparing it to dinner with your best friend. “The book reads like sitting down for a long meal with your smartest, funniest, most passionate friend,” she said in a press release.

The book is personal, says the publisher. “She shares the latest chapter of her inspiring life and shows us how to age gracefully and move forward with courage, joy, determination and a sense of humor.”

In Something lost, something gainedClinton, 76, writes about the strength she draws from her friends, her Methodist faith and her nearly 50-year marriage to former President Bill Clinton.

She also revisits some of the more difficult moments of her political career, her time as a college professor, and reflects on her unsuccessful run for President of the United States in 2016.

Another focus is her passionate commitment to women and democracy as well as her “strong and compelling warning to all American voters.”

Clinton’s latest memoir ultimately explores how “the personal is political and the political is personal, and provides a blueprint for what each of us can do to improve our lives.” She has “now seen life from both sides” and is ready to continue telling her story.
