Crazy Town lead singer Shifty Shellshock passed away this week.

The “Butterfly” singer, whose real name was Seth Binzer, was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Monday.

Shellshock’s cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

As RadarOnline.com As previously mentioned, the sudden death of Crazy Town’s lead singer in Los Angeles on Monday came amid the popular musician’s ongoing battle with drug addiction.

Shellshock died this week 12 years after falling into a coma during a hospital stay in 2012. He later awoke from the coma and was released from the hospital.

Meanwhile, Shellshock was also known for his appearances in reality TV shows Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew And Celebrity Rehab presents Sober HouseHe struggled with his cocaine addiction.

Shellshock’s cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

“I’m more of a lover than a fighter…but the one I need to love more than fight with is myself…Mr. Shifty True Love #Sober, Alive and Grateful,” Shellshock wrote on Instagram eight weeks before his death.

Shellshock met for the first time Bret Mazur in 1992 and the pair called themselves Brimstone Sluggers before forming Crazy Town in 1999.

The hit from Crazy Town, butterflyentered the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000 and stayed there for two weeks. The song also peaked at number one in several countries.

The debut album of the rap rock band, The gift of the gamealso sold over 1.5 million copies after its release in November 1999.

Although Shellshock and Mazur split up in 2002 after their second album, Dark Horseflopped, they reformed in 2007 and released a third album, The Brimstone Sluggersin 2009.

Mazur left Crazy Town permanently in January 2017. Shellshock and Crazy Town last performed in 2023 during a tour with nu-metal band Hed PE.

Several Crazy Town and Shellshock fans stormed Shellshock’s Instagram page this week upon receiving news of his death.

“Rest in peace Shifty,” wrote one fan. “Addiction sucks. I was really hoping that sobriety would help you turn things around.”

“REST IN PEACE old friend… remember you best as a kid on a skateboard with the whole world in front of you… sending love to your family,” another friend wrote.

“This really broke my heart. Damn Seth why… you’ve been a part of my life since we were kids,” another fan added. “Damn you just broke a lot of hearts… rest in peace old friend darling.”

“I’m sad he’s been silent for so long,” commented another person. “We love you, boy.”
