“Habit”: Ariana Grande hits back at criticism for changing her vocal pitch in a viral video

While Ariana Grande impresses many with her stunning voice, she also catches the attention of a few who have noticed something odd about her voice. When the followers become critics, the Thank U, Next artist silences them and lets her statements rest.

Grande took to social media to express herself once and for all.

Ariana Grande lets her voice be silenced by critics

The star singer recently appeared on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast, after which a clip from the interview became a hot topic on social media. Some of Ariana Grande’s followers found the drastic change in her voice strange and pointed out her tone during the discussion with the host.

However, the “Yes, And?” singer took to social media to address those who condemned her for her voice.

A TikTok user uploaded a video of Grande from the interview and captioned the post, “The voice change??”

On Tuesday, June 18, the singer made a statement in a comment on the same post. The pop star stated in the comments that this change in her voice was due to her role as Glinda in her upcoming film “Wicked,” but stressed that it was done “out of habit.” While she was dispelling the cloud, she also mentioned that she was doing this for her “vocal health.”

“I intentionally change my vocal pitch (high/low) often depending on how much I’m singing,” the “We Can’t Be Friends” singer explained in her commentary, addressing her critics by saying that she has always done this.

Ariana Grande at the Oscars 2024

Although the artist has now left the entire jury, this was not the first time her fans drew attention to her. She also took the stage at the 2024 Oscars to present alongside Cynthia Erivo, who also happens to be her co-star from “Wicked.”

Criticism erupted even after the singer-turned-actress said during an appearance on the Zach Sang Show in February that she had to change her voice for the role of Glinda.

Although Ariana Grande had to endure a lot of hardship, she continued to work on her new music, which has been very well received by her loyal fans.

During her appearance on Podcrushed, the Bloodline singer gave a comprehensive update and talked about new music coming soon. She also said it might be part of the deluxe edition of her album Eternal Sunshine. “I’ve written a lot and there might be more. I want to do a deluxe edition at some point,” Grande explained.
