As new sustainability regulations reshape the apparel and consumer goods industries, Worldly is expanding its leadership team to provide solutions that help global brands and manufacturers comply with regulations and improve social and environmental performance.

SAN FRANCISCO, June 25, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Worldly, the supply chain sustainability insights and data platform, today announced the appointment of two new members to its leadership team. Kevin Vranes joins the company as Chief Product Officer and Jay Gaines as Chief Marketing and Content Officer. As Worldly advances its growth initiatives, Vranes and Gaines will play key roles in developing the company’s product innovation and go-to-market strategies to provide customers with solutions they urgently need to reduce their environmental impact and meet today’s evolving regulatory requirements.

“Our mission is to help the consumer goods industry make clear and credible progress toward sustainability goals, and we believe comprehensive, actionable data is at the heart of this effort,” said Scott Raskin, CEO of Worldly. “Kevin and Jay will expertly contribute to Worldly’s development of the Higg Index, as well as new innovative solutions and their launch to market, in a way that resonates with our customers and underscores our commitment to helping them move toward a compliant and sustainable future.”

Worldly’s mission is to deliver accurate primary data required for regulatory compliance – including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive – and provide actionable insights for companies to improve their sustainability performance. Vranes and Gaines will each lead key aspects of expanding the platform to help brands and manufacturers drive tangible social and environmental improvements on a global scale while meeting regulatory requirements.

Vranes, an experienced software executive with a PhD in ocean and climate physics, most recently helped develop and launch Salesforce’s Net Zero Cloud product. He has also held leadership and executive roles in advanced technology, cleantech, energy and the environment, and was a Congressional Science Fellow on Capitol Hill. Vranes has a knack for navigating climate and energy-focused roles in academia, consulting and the software industry – experiences that will shape his work at Worldly, where he develops solutions for the industry that align with the new regulatory landscape in the sustainability sector.

“Worldly is one of the leading platforms for creating positive impact on the planet,” said Vranes. “I’m excited to be driving the development of solutions that businesses need, from reducing carbon emissions to advocating for human rights in the global supply chain. I joined Worldly because it is so well positioned to expand the scale and reach of its impact.”

Gaines brings world-recognized expertise in executing successful growth strategies for companies ranging from early-stage startups to global billion-dollar enterprises. Most recently, Gaines served as CMO at AgentSync, a customer-focused technology company driving innovation in the highly regulated insurance industry. Previously, as CMO and Research Fellow of Sirius Decisions, which was acquired by Forrester, he led the development and delivery of frameworks, strategies and data-driven insights for business leaders, helping clients make decisions and execute strategies to maximize their growth and brand value. At Worldly, he will lead and bring to market data insights that help consumer brands and manufacturers strategically use sustainability data to make better decisions and embed sustainability data into their daily operations.

“With its wealth of global supply chain data, Worldly is perfectly positioned to help companies make strategic decisions on social and environmental sustainability and prepare for regulatory change at this critical time when brands need support navigating regulatory change,” said Gaines. “In this exciting role, I’m excited to bring my expertise to a company that is driving positive change and global impact.”

The appointment of Vranes and Gaines comes in a key growth year for Worldly, following the appointment of CEO Scott Raskin in July 2023. With Raskin at the helm, Worldly has focused the past 12 months on driving customer value through deeper engagement and developing new customer-facing products, with the launch of Facility Data Manager in May and investments in solutions that help companies measure Scope 3 emissions quickly and at scale using primary data.
