Series review: The Jumbo Shrimp picked up a series victory on the road, winning four of six games against the Memphis Redbirds and ending the season on a three-game winning streak. Every game in the series was decided by three runs or fewer. Tuesday marks the start of the second half of the Triple-A season after the Omaha Storm Chasers won the first half.

To mark: The Jumbo Shrimp’s bats came alive in the late innings of Friday night’s 6-3 win at Memphis. Jacksonville fell behind 3-1 but scored five unanswered runs to take the lead when Troy Johnston tripled to score Jonah Bride in the seventh inning.

Crustacean sensation: Outfielder Griffin Conine continues to swing the bat well. He increased his batting average by 40 points in June, from .244 to .284, and is hitting .370 with an OPS of 1.137 for the month. In the Memphis series, Conine hit .333 with two doubles, a triple and a home run.

On board: Nashville, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, was clearly in the middle of the pack in the first half and finished the season 38-37, 12 games behind first-place Omaha. Former Arlington Country Day School catcher Brian Navarreto is returning to town and now plays on the Sounds’ roster. With catcher Jeferson Quero on the injured list, the Sounds’ only active prospect ranked in the Brewers’ top 30 by MLB.com is first baseman Wes Clarke (.235, 8 HR, 29 RBI).

Fun at the baseball stadium: Another crazy week of action is coming up. It starts with Random Headshot Night on Tuesday, continues with the water-soaked Big Splash Day on Wednesday and ends with Comic Hero Day on Sunday.

Expected pitchers on Tuesday: Be determined.
