Small Cap Value Report (Tuesday, June 25, 2024) – VTU, IGR

I have cleared my backlog of updates for my SCVR summary table last night, it is now up to date. I am pleased to say that we have 537 unique companies here so far in calendar year 2024. That rises to nearly 650 on a rolling 12-month basis, so really comprehensive coverage, and I’m always eager to do more!

Below is a screenshot of the last 6 weeks. It’s notable how much takeover activity there is (I’m marking takeover approaches in PINK and placing them on the left). Also, there aren’t many earnings warnings (in black), aside from a recent spate of five of them. Remember, in the Google Sheet you can hover over any cell and a pop-up will appear with a brief summary of SCVR’s commentary on that company that day. It’s a very useful quick reference tool to quickly learn about any stock we cover here using CTRL+F and ticker.

(Note that for those who aren’t familiar with colors, I’m now arranging the companies in a left-to-right, good-to-bad format. Additionally, if you open the table and hover over each item, you’ll see text that includes the color as a word. I hope this makes the work understandable for almost anyone.)

We limit ourselves to companies that published news on the same day. Market capitalizations (typically) between £10 million and £1 billionWe usually avoid the smallest and most speculative companies and also some specialty sectors (e.g. natural resources, pharma/biotech, investment firms). However, if something is newsworthy and interesting, we try to comment on it. Please note that the “List of Reporting Companies” is just that – it is no to-do list. We typically cover around 5 companies per day, with a special focus on updates on under/overperforming companies and we track the list of most viewed companies…
