The US is reportedly indirectly warning Hezbollah and advising against taking action against Israel

US officials issued a direct and unprecedented warning to Hezbollah, warning the Shiite militia not to assume that Washington could prevent an Israeli military exercise.

This message, indirectly conveyed to Hezbollah, came against a backdrop of growing concern about the unstable situation along the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Sources familiar with the discussions indicate that the warning is aimed at encouraging Hezbollah to de-escalate and withdraw from potential conflict scenarios.

US officials said they could not guarantee that Israel’s response to perceived threats would cease. They also stressed Washington’s determination to support Israel in its defense.

According to two US officials told US news channel Politico, the Biden administration is prepared to support Israel in various eventualities, such as renewing the Iron Dome missile defense system and providing intelligence support.

They mentioned the possibility of further expanding support, including direct military assistance, if Israel were to come under significant pressure, such as Hezbollah firing rockets and missiles at Israeli cities.

Hezbollah, a major player in Lebanese politics and an opponent of Israel, has not publicly responded to the US warning.
