Chris Hemsworth reacts to surprise cameo appearance by Deadpool and Wolverine

Chris Hemsworth has reacted to the news of his surprise appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The “Furiosa” star makes a brief appearance as Thor in the upcoming action film; footage of his cameo was recently shown at CinemaCon 2024.

Hemsworth did not return to film the cameo; instead, footage from a previous film was edited and reused.

“I didn’t know. Am I in there? It’s really cool,” he said in an interview with ComicBook.

“You kind of forget that and you’re like, ‘Oh, cool! I’m part of the team,'” he continues. “They’re talking about me, and I’m not in it (in the movie). But I mean, it’s really cool to be part of this whole world.”

“I think what makes this look really cool is the nature of interconnectedness.”

The cameo shows Hemsworth’s Thor crying over the corpse of Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds), in a scene not unlike the one in Thor: The Dark World with Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

It turns out that the cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine was created using the same scene from Thor: The Dark World.

Thor is one of the many famous heroes appearing in the third Deadpool film, and the latest trailer confirms the return of several X-Men characters.

Aaron Stanford once again plays Pyro alongside the mutant Colossus (voice: Stefan Kapičić). The X-Force characters Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shatterstar and Yukio also appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.

As if that wasn’t enough, Jennifer Garner is highly anticipated to return as Elektra in the third installment, reprising her role from the infamous 2003 Daredevil film and the 2005 spin-off Elektra.

Earlier this month, Hugh Jackman also confirmed that his return as Wolverine will be a little different than what viewers might expect from Deadpool & Wolverine.

“There are different sides of Wolverine that we haven’t seen in the movies. That was exciting for me,” he told Empire.

“It’s great for Deadpool to have someone punch him in the face.”
