Today he is an actor, comedian, producer and New York Times Bestselling author, Jenny Slate has announced an eight-city tour in support of LIFEFORM, her brand new collection of personal pieces. The tour, produced by Live Nation, kicks off at Town Hall in New York on October 22, coinciding with the book’s release, and will make stops in Boston*, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Madison before concluding in Washington, DC on October 30.

Slate shared, “It’s hard to say what I like best about writing books, but one unexpected joy is the opportunity to continue to share my thoughts and feelings in front of a live audience and to talk to other people about what I’ve written. I know these evenings will bring me incredible joy, and I hope everyone who attends feels the same!”

Fans can look forward to an evening of almost impossible to describe oddities, ingenuity and hilarity with the one and only Jenny Slate. She will read passages from LIFEFORM and take the audience through all the relatable stages of life, from heartbreak to true love to pregnancy, parenthood and of course all the little weird details that make up a life. All this in a moderated conversation and Q&A with the audience. Tickets to this event also include a signed copy of LIFEFORM.

Critically acclaimed actress, comedian and NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Jenny Slate is one of today’s most versatile writers. Slate is best known for her starring role in A24’s OBVIOUS CHILD and A24’s Oscar-nominated MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON.

Slate recently released her new comedy special JENNY SLATE: SEASONED PROFESSIONAL on Prime Video. Slate recently wrapped production on FX’s new miniseries Dying for Sex, in which she stars alongside Michelle Williams. The series is based on Nikki Boyer’s popular podcast series of the same name, in which a woman diagnosed with terminal breast cancer leaves her unhappy marriage and embarks on a series of sexual adventures in order to feel alive.

In the summer of 2022, Slate co-created, co-wrote, co-produced and voiced the title character Marcel in A24’s Oscar-nominated film MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON. The film was released in theaters on June 24, 2022 and received critical acclaim, including the NBR Award for Best Animated Feature and a New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Critics Choice Award nominations. The film is an extension of the highly popular online short film of the same name that Slate co-created with Dean Fleischer-Camp in 2010. The short film has been viewed over 30 million times to date. It was subsequently adapted into a children’s book series that was on the NEW YORK TIMES bestseller list.

In spring 2022, Slate starred in A24’s Oscar-winning EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, a science fiction film written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Slate stars in the film alongside Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, Harry Shum Jr., James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis. She won a 2023 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for her role in the film. The film was released on March 25, 2022, and won an Oscar for Best Picture.

Slate made her feature film debut in 2014 in A24’s critically acclaimed OBVIOUS CHILD. In the film, she played the role of Donna alongside Jake Lacy, Gaby Hoffman, Gabe Hoffman, and David Cross. For her role in the film, Slate won a Critics’ Choice Award for “Best Actress in a Comedy” and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” and a Gotham Award for “Breakthrough Actor.”

Slate’s other major film roles include a lead role in Amazon Prime’s hit romantic comedy I WANT YOU BACK as Emma, ​​the aimless but lovable partner and lover of Charlie Day’s Peter.
