Since the video was posted a day ago, it has been viewed over 5 million times and reached Grande herself, who responded with an explanation as to the reason for the sudden voice change.

“Habit (of speaking like that for two years) and also vocal health,” Grande replied. “I often change my vocal pitch (high/low) intentionally depending on how much I sing. I’ve always done that, BYE.”

Grande has had a busy year. The singer recently released her latest studio album titled Forget it!which she said came about during the strikes in Hollywood.

“I didn’t plan on (making new music now). I didn’t have the goal of making an album,” Grande said on the Zach Sang Show. “I was actually really against coming out with music until Evileither both parts or just one part. I wasn’t sure how I would feel.”

But after a few studio sessions with Max Martin, the songs flowed and she has released three singles so far, including “Yes, And?”, “We Can’t Be Friends” and “The Boy Is Mine”.

“It all just came out of me and after our first week together, I went into the studio by myself every day and it just kept happening naturally, so I just decided to respond to it and listen and I thought maybe if it’s coming out of me like that, it should come out,” she said. “Maybe it should be shared in this way.”

Later this year, Grande will star alongside Cynthia Erivo in the film adaptation of the musical Evil, in which she will play Glinda. The film, directed by Jon M. Chu, is scheduled to be released on November 27th.
