Watch Benson Boone react when Taylor Swift sends him a shout-out

Taylor Swift is a “big fan” of her tour colleague Benson Boone.

In between surprise stage appearances with her boyfriend Travis Kelce and selfies with the royals, the “Cruel Summer” singer took a minute to pay tribute to the rising star, who opened on the third night of the Eras Tour in London.

“For me personally, it’s also a dream come true to tour with artists that I’m a huge fan of,” the 34-year-old superstar said before performing her song “Lover,” adding that she thinks Boone is “so real” and “such a showman.”

Earlier in the evening, the 21-year-old singer made his debut on the Eras Tour and thrilled the audience with hits from his debut studio album Fireworks & RollerbladesHe even paid a sweet tribute to his headliner by incorporating the modified lyrics “I need Taylor Swift” into his smash hit “Beautiful Things” at the end of his opening set.

As he left the stage, Boone performed a few backflips for the crowd – which obviously caught Swift’s attention. (“He’s out here doing flips for you!” the star later shouted to the crowd.) This also makes him only the second person to attempt a flip on the Eras Tour stage, following Swift’s ex Taylor Lautner’s performance at the Kansas City, Missouri, stop last summer.

After his performance, Boone took his seat with the 90,000 other Swifties in the audience at Wembley Stadium, where he could be seen rocking out to Swift’s hits and accepting friendship bracelets from fans.

But he had one more moment in the spotlight – when Swift told the crowd to “give up for Benson Boone.”

After the recognition, the Washington native put his hand over his wide-open mouth before joining in the cheers of his friends around him, captured in a video posted to TikTok. “Here we go!” one of his friends yelled. He later shared a series of images from the performance on Instagram, including a selfie with Swift.

But Boone is no stranger to the stage. Just last month, pop icon and well-known friend of Swift’s, Lana Del Rey, invited Boone as a special guest to her headlining performance at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they sang “Beautiful Things” as a duet.

Later this summer, Boone will complete his own world tour with performances at Lollapalooza in August and some tour dates in New Zealand and Australia in September.

Next weekend, Swift will head to Dublin with her record-breaking Eras Tour, where she will play three nights as sole support act Paramore before taking the show to several other countries in Europe.
