Chris Bosh missed Game 7 against San Antonio, but still proudest moment

When the Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 95-88 in the final seventh game in South Florida in 2013, they did so despite power forward Chris Bosh failing to score a single point.

It was LeBron James and Dwyane Wade who led the Heat starters with 37 and 23 points, respectively.
Bosh described being on the field at the end of the game as the crowning achievement of his career.

“I think this is the proudest moment of my career,” Bosh said in 2014. “Not scoring a goal, but still being out there in the last minute.”

South Florida will once again host a Game 7, with the Florida Panthers taking on the Edmonton Oilers to decide the Stanley Cup Final, and there’s no telling if there will be another bizarre Bosh moment.

He called it a defining moment of his career. Consider that it was Bosh who got the rebound and assist on Ray Allen’s three-point field goal in the final seconds of regulation in Game 6 that forced overtime and sent the Heat to Game 7.

“I had a moment of clarity,” Bosh said. “I didn’t score a point and everyone kept saying, ‘Don’t worry, you’re going to score a point.’ I was like, ‘Dude, I’m fine.’ I thought I wasn’t going to get the ball or score a basket. Dwyane and LeBron were giving it their all the whole game.”

Wade had his own opinion on Bosh’s performance in this game.

“If it’s not my night to shine, then it’s not my night to shine on offense, but there are other ways to impact the game,” Wade said. “I think Chris showed that in Game 7.”
