The jazz concert series continues on Friday | News, Sports, Jobs

The jazz concert series at First Covenant Church, 520 Spring St., Jamestown, presents the Chautauqua Big Band Swing under the direction of John Cross on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

If you make a voluntary donation, there is no entrance fee.

The concert features an eclectic mix of musical styles, including blues, jazz, rock, swing, pop, funk, and classic big band favorites.

Singer Kent Landin sings the songs “When The Saints Go Marching In,” “You’ve Got A Friend In Me,” and “God Bless The USA.” Soloists include Dr. Allen Zurcher on tenor, Jay Hagen on trumpet, Doug Schutte on trombone, and Kyle Jordan on baritone saxophone.

Members of the swing band Chautauqua Big Band include John Cross, Hal Reisenfeld, Dr. Allen Zurcher, Curt Barnes, Paul Mazzone and Kyle Jordan on saxophone; Dr. Rick Lundquist, Jay Hagen, Michelle Battaglia, Brandon Caruso and Peter Weinreich on trumpet; Doug Schutte, Tim Przybelinski, Aiden Chamberlain and Jon Zawadski on trombone; and Craig Ridgway on drums, Amy Cross on bass and Jim Madden on piano.
