The Meaningful Conversations Book Club of Pasadena has had wonderful experiences reading books on important societal issues followed by deep dialogues.

A year and a half ago, the Meaningful Conversations Book Club of Pasadena embarked on a purposeful journey to explore social justice issues by studying Pulitzer Prize-winning fiction and nonfiction, and it’s been a wonderful journey so far.
Her latest book, How to get to know a person: The art of seeing others deeply and being seen deeply, by David Brooks offers insights and tools to help us see and understand each other on a deeper level than is often the case when we meet others. Perhaps by truly understanding and developing empathy for others, we can move from a world that so often functions through a lens of judgement and misunderstanding to a kinder, gentler world.
