Here is my summer book suggestion for you

Here is my summer book suggestion for you

Many of us think, “I really should read more.”

I don’t talk about things on the Internet either.

I’m talking about a good book. A good read.

“A Walk to Beautiful” by Jimmy Wayne

A few summers ago I was in Key West and needed some rest. I bought the book “Walk to Beautiful” by Jimmy Wayne.

(Full disclosure: I’ve known Jimmy for about 20 years, but have never read his NY Times bestseller.)

I started reading the book one afternoon by the pool and couldn’t put it down.

I went out onto the balcony of our hotel and continued reading there. I went inside and continued reading there.

I was able to read the book in less than three days and found it fascinating, informative and moving.

What the book is about

Jimmy is a country singer-songwriter who has had some success over the years.

Although he is talented and dedicated, I believe this book was ultimately his calling. It is a book about his life, particularly about growing up.

Jimmy Wayne had a difficult childhood, was homeless at times and lived in foster homes at times, but eventually found a family that helped and guided him during the early years of his adult life.

I think the book really teaches us a lot about the foster care system in this country and the challenges that foster children face every day.

Make a difference

Jimmy’s story and his advocacy for the plight of foster children have led to changes in laws in several states. He has made an impact and continues to educate and persuade through his appearances across the country.

“Walk to Beautiful” is available in most bookstores or can be ordered here.
