  • Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl joked that Taylor Swift doesn’t perform live.
  • Swift seemed to respond by saying that her band plays live for three and a half hours at each show.
  • The comments came after Swift fans harassed Grohl’s teenage daughter earlier this year.

Taylor Swift seemed to respond to Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl’s accusation that she would not play live this weekend because the relationship between the two had apparently deteriorated.

On Sunday, Swift completed the British leg of her “Eras Tour,” the most successful tour of all time and a testament to her immense star status. Before the start, Barclays Bank estimated that the tour would pump £997 million ($1.26 billion) into the British economy.

However, her large fan base defends her vehemently and often bullies those who criticize her.

Some fans speculated that Grohl’s comments were a response to Swift fans harassing his teenage daughter Violet Grohl over tweets she sent about the singer earlier this year.

Here is a timeline of the statements.

In 2015, both the Foo Fighters and Swift performed at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend in Norwich, UK.

BBC News reported that Grohl expressed his support for her during his performance, joking that he was “obsessed” with her.

He told the crowd: “I’m officially obsessed. She might want to get a restraining order because I’m all about Swift. To my opening act, Taylor Swift. Taylor and the Swifts.”

At a Foo Fighters show in London on Saturday, Dave Grohl told the crowd: “We were joking earlier about the Taylor Swift tour. I know she’s on her ‘Eras’ tour. I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.”

“That’s why we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour’. We’ve experienced more than a few eras and more than a few damn mistakes. Just a few.”

“That’s because we actually play live. What? I’m just saying. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, right? Then you’ve come to the right place.”

Swift did not directly address Grohl’s comments, but appeared to respond during her performance in London on Sunday.

“Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band that will be playing live for you tonight for 3.5 hours, they deserve this so much.

“That goes for all my fellow actors as well. And you gave this to us so generously, we will never forget it,” she said.
