Taylor Swift’s speech before the performance of “thanK you aIMee”

Taylor Swift performed “thanK you aIMee” (aka her diss track to Kim Kardashian) for the first time at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, and she… was about to say something!

Before performing the song, Taylor told her huge crowd: “We’re going to play Wembley eight times this summer. And when you think about that, you think about just being grateful and thanking all the people who wanted that for you. And that’s all of you here tonight. Obviously you thought this would be a good idea, you could do this, you wanted this to happen. That blows my mind. I’ll spend forever thanking you for that.”

She added (and this is the part that’s 👀), “On the other hand, it really makes me think about how every time someone talks shit, I work even harder and become even tougher because of it. So I’m incredibly grateful to those people too.”

Tay then went straight in “thanK you aIMee,” a song that is largely assumed to be about her long-running feud with Kim Kardashian. Thanks to… you know… lyrics like this:

Everyone knows that my mother is a holy woman
But she always said she wished you were dead
I pushed every boulder up the hill
Your words still ring in my head, ring in my head

Oh and:

And maybe you have reformulated it
And in your thoughts you never beat my mind black and blue
I don’t think you’ve changed much
And so I changed your name and all the really crucial clues
And one day your child will come home singing.”
A song that only we both will know is about you

As you were!
