Travis Kelce appears on stage with Taylor Swift in a cameo appearance on the Eras Tour in London

LONDON — Taylor Swift may have once dated a boy from London, but her American boyfriend is the center of attention on her tour of the British capital.

On Sunday night, Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance on stage during Swift’s Eras Tour in front of tens of thousands of fans at Wembley Stadium – the same weekend as Swift’s Instagram selfie with the British royals and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wearing a USA Olympic cap.

Kelce, who has been in the audience for all three nights of Swift’s London shows so far, came onstage to cheers as Swift moved from “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to the next song on the setlist, “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.”

At other shows on the Eras Tour, it’s usually Swift’s backing dancers who lift her off the dance floor after the breakup anthem from “The Tortured Poets Department.”

This time it was Kelce – dressed in a top hat and tails like Swift’s two other backup dancers – who carried her to a couch to get her ready for the next song, which was about performing every night while struggling with heartbreak.

“‘So Long London’ should have been ‘Actually, I’m taking London,'” TikToker Jake Deyton posted in a video, referring to the song “2024,” which is an obvious reference to her split from British actor Joe Alwyn last year after more than six years together.

Swift reportedly lived in London with Alwyn, who fans have long speculated was the inspiration for the love song “London Boy” on her 2019 album.

The sketch only lasted about a minute, but Swifties were, unsurprisingly, thrilled. Videos and live streams of Kelce’s cameo were accompanied by loud screams from the audience.

“This is a hard way to start a relationship,” a fan wrote.

“TRAVIS KELCE HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED HIS ERA,” read the caption under one video. “IF HE DOESN’T SUPPORT YOU AT THIS LEVEL HE NEEDS TO GO LADIES!!” read one comment below.

Onstage, Kelce powdered Swift’s nose and told her to smile before the next act.

On social media, fans crowdsourced different angles for Kelce’s cameo and speculated how it came about.

Some noticed that Kelce wore what appeared to be a custom-made costume and red-soled shoes, suggesting that his surprise appearance was planned in advance.

One joked that Kelce, who had been to several of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts as Swift’s boyfriend, was now eager to be part of the show. (Swift also attended several Chiefs games last NFL season, including the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where she flew after an Eras Tour performance in Tokyo.)

Swift has referenced her relationship with Kelce during several Eras Tour performances in the past, including by changing the lyrics of her latest song, “Karma.”

The lyrics changed from “Karma is the guy on the screen / coming right to my house” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs / coming right to my house.”

While in London, she also posted a photo of herself, Kelce and William, the Prince of Wales, and two of his children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, which the Daily Mail captioned “Royals everywhere.”
