According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal are still in the race for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

The Gunners are on the hunt for a new striker and have been linked with many names, including Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

Guirassy is another player on the radar. Plettenberg reports that Borussia Dortmund are optimistic about signing the 28-year-old, but there is no full agreement yet.

This should open the door to more admirers, including Arsenal. The Guinea international is expected to make a decision on his future in the next few days.

Guirassy would be a good signing for Arsenal

Guirassy was sensational for Stuttgart last season, scoring 30 goals in as many appearances that helped the team qualify for the Champions League.

The former Rennes player is having the best season of his career and could be a bargain given a £17m release clause in his contract.

In our opinion, Guirassy would be a good signing for the Gunners, but given the Bundesliga transfer history so far, there is a certain risk involved.

A number of well-known names, including Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz, have struggled after moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.

Havertz has found his feet at the Gunners, but it is quite clear that the higher intensity of the league has affected the performance of the new signings from the Bundesliga.

Guirassy would be a good signing to fill the number nine position, but we are not convinced he can become Arsenal’s first-choice striker.

Before last season, Guirassy scored a maximum of 14 goals in a single season.
