Sie Choo Yong, the owner of a small grocery store in Singapore, has gone viral on TikTok for her generosity. In a video posted by user @dinahnahnah, the centenarian can be seen giving away extra items and even refusing payment. The user appealed to viewers to support Sie’s business at the Beauty World Centre in Upper Bukit Timah.

  • The shop, Lean Seng Lee Trading, is owned by Sie’s youngest son, who said he keeps the shop open to give Sie something meaningful to do instead of being bored at home. Despite her age, she is still very active and healthy, according to her second eldest son, who is 66. Originally from China, she moved to Singapore in her 30s and has a farming background. She has seven children and 27 grandchildren.

  • The TikTok video has garnered over 184,000 views and many supportive comments, with viewers praising Sie’s kindness and expressing their intention to visit her shop. “Yes please support this auntie. I grew up buying snacks from her shop since elementary school. I’m turning 30 and to this day she remembers me,” reads one comment.
