Snoop Dogg feels “nothing but love” for former President Donald Trump after previous feud

After their much-publicized dispute, Snoop Dogg offers former President Donald Trump a peace offering.

The rapper, who had previously vocally disapproved of Trump’s presidency, appeared to change his mind in an interview with the Sunday Times published on Sunday. “Donald Trump? He’s done nothing to me,” Snoop Dogg told the British broadcaster. “He’s done nothing but great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.”

Along with Suge Knight and Dr. Dre, Harris co-founded the record label Death Row Records in the early 1990s, which signed Snoop Dogg to release his debut album, “Doggystyle,” in 1993. Trump commuted Harris’ prison sentence to life in prison in 2021, along with 69 others, after he served 30 years of a sentence that had been threatened with 25 years to life for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

“I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” said Snoop Dogg.

The “Gin and Juice” host’s praise for Trump stands in stark contrast to his previous criticism of the former president.

In a 2017 music video for the song “Lavender (Nightfall Remix),” Snoop Dogg literally took aim at Trump, pointing a gun at a clown dressed like the then-commander-in-chief. In an interview with Billboard at the time, the rapper listed his many problems with Trump, including the “prohibition that he wanted to enforce; that he won the presidency; that the police could kill… and get away with it (and) that people were in prison for 20, 30 years for weed.”

A few days after the music video was released, Trump responded to Snoop Dogg’s diss on social media. “Can you imagine the outcry there would have been if (Snoop Dogg) had aimed and fired at President Obama despite his failed career? Jail time!” he said. wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In June 2020, Snoop Dogg again criticized Trump in an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3. Speaking about his plan to vote for the first time in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, the rapper said he no longer wants Trump in office.

“I’ve never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to go out and vote because I can’t stand to see that punk in office another year,” Snoop Dogg said in response to Big Boi’s question about what he thought about Trump and voting.

But while Trump is gearing up for a confrontation with President Joe Biden in the November 2024 presidential election, Snoop Dogg remained coy when asked by The Sunday Times whether he would declare his support for either candidate.

“Maybe I have to,” Snoop Dogg said. “Because there are different views on this, so I want to see what people say.”
