David Grohl makes fun of Taylor Swift’s live performances during the concert, Swities is angry when his fans claim it is “clickbait”

David Grohl of the band Foo Fighter caused a furore with his comments about Taylor Swift in a London stadium on Saturday. During his concert, Grohl took a swipe at American pop sensation Taylor Swift by accusing her of not singing live at her concerts. Taylor is currently performing at various venues in London as part of her London Eras Tour. Fans of the singer-songwriter reacted to Grohl’s dig at Taylor’s ability to sing live at her stadium-packed concerts.

Grohl criticizes Taylor’s concerts and says: “We actually play live”

The Foo Fighters founder mentioned Taylor’s concert at Wembley Stadium while conducting his own concert. During his performance, Grohl claimed, “I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.” He further mocked the Folklore singer by calling his tour the “Errors Tour,” referencing Taylor’s tour name, The Eras Tour. He then explained why he renamed the Eras tour: “We’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few damn mistakes, too. Just a few.”

Grohl also poked fun at the 34-year-old’s singing skills, who doesn’t perform live at her concerts. He said: “That’s because we actually play live. What? I’m just saying. You like raw, live rock’n’roll music, right? Then you’ve come to the right place.”

Internet users defend Taylor after Grohl’s comments

Swifties immediately defended their idol online. One user wrote: “This is incredibly odd behavior considering this was an incredibly baseless statement.”

A second user wrote: “This lady just lives rent free in everyone’s head.”

Another expressed disbelief, as Grohl and Taylor had always gotten along well: “Was that really an insult to her or was it just a play on words?? Because as far as I know, there was no argument.”

One user wrote: “This was so inappropriate but they were pumping up the crowd. I was on the Eras tour and to say her band didn’t play or she didn’t sing live just isn’t right. This feels like an unnecessary smear campaign,” while another wrote: “I love Dave and the Foo Fighters. I also love Taylor Swift. I hope he was joking because this was unnecessary and unfair.”

On Reddit, however, Grohl’s fan found Swiftie’s criticism harsh and “for something he probably didn’t even mean.” “Dave has met Taylor and I doubt he harbors any animosity. Yay, clickbait.”
