Penn State football team’s primary destination in the state is expected to be Michigan

James Franklin and Penn State football are expected to miss out on one of their top remaining in-state targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle. After the last official visit weekend before the summer break, several recruiting insiders are predicting that Southern Lehigh tight end Andrew Olesh will commit to Michigan later in the year. The forecasts came on Sunday morning after Olesh’s official visit to Ann Arbor. It was only his second visit to campus, but apparently two visits were all the top tight end in the Keystone State needed to make his decision.

Out of On 3VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and Michigan insider EJ Holland both had 60% confidence in their predictions. Meanwhile, 247Sport National recruiting analyst Tom Loy and Wolverines reporter Steve Lorenz both expressed medium confidence.

Andrew Olesh is a top-100 prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports and On3. Olesh is a four-star recruit and is ranked by both media outlets as a top-five player at his position and in Pennsylvania for his class.

Penn State Football secures several new additions for 2025 within 12 hours

While the expectation of missing out on Andrew Olesh represents the lowest blow in recruiting, the Penn State football team was also euphoric in its search for players this weekend.

After a successful last weekend of official visits, James Franklin and the Nittany Lions secured two commitments within 12 hours.

On Saturday evening Imhotep ran back Jabree Wallace-Coleman remains a football player at Penn State. Wallace-Coleman, a former Georgia player, is the top running back in Pennsylvania in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He replaces Alvin Henderson, who transferred to Auburn on Friday.

On Sunday morning, the Nittany Lions signed their fourth defensive back of the month, the four-star Braswell Thomas. The Pleasantville prospect, who also plays wide receiver, is the No. 25 player in New Jersey, according to On3’s industry rankings.

According to On3, Penn State’s football team currently has the 13th-ranked recruiting class in the country, while 247Sports ranks the Nittany Lions 10th nationally.
