Which SEC program has the best fight song? Ranking all 16 team anthems

The Southeastern Conference; with some of the biggest and best marching bands, the loudest stadiums, and the most exciting football teams in the world.

Each team in the SEC has its own famous history, and many of the universities are equally steeped in history.

With alma maters and fight songs galore, the SEC stands out in the rest of the country, from Texas A&M’s Aggie War Hymn to Tennessee’s Rocky top.

Which team anthem mobilizes the troops like no other? How do all 16 battle songs compare to those of their opponents?

Here is the latest (and best) ranking of each SEC fight song:

Player. At, at the University of K. At, at the University of K. . 16. . 528. United Kingdom. .

Although Kentucky’s fight song stays true to history, it is extremely unexciting and is more reminiscent of an alma mater sung at college graduation than a fight song that bonds a team together.

Step back. 15. 533. . . sc. . Step back. . Player

The intro is promising (and therefore doesn’t rank last), but the fight song itself lacks real tension and never gets to a mic drop moment.

Players. 537. 14. . . Vandy. . Dynamite. Dynamite.

Funny name, but a pretty boring song that doesn’t evoke enough emotion to rank higher than 14th in the conference.

. . Fight Tiger. . Fight Tiger. 13. Mizzou. Players. 822.

A somewhat unoriginal name, it could refer to three teams in the SEC and lacks momentum behind the beat. The drum sergeant at the beginning is reminiscent of Ohio State’s impressive marching band.

Boomer Sooner. 12th player. ok. . . Boomer Sooner. . . 815

As a Longhorn fan, it pains me to rank the Oklahoma fight song so highly, but Boomer Sooner has a pretty catchy tune. However, it lacks a climax to get fans and players excited.

. 530. Heil State. Player. msu. . . . Heil State. 11

Great name for a fight song and the song itself is very entertaining, but it somehow drags on too long and loses people’s attention.

10. Forward Rebels. . . . 532. Ole Miss. Players. . Forward Rebels

It really feels like troops are being sent into battle. I’m sure players are ready to run through a wall after hearing this song.

. Long live Georgia. 9. Long live Georgia. . . uga. Players. 527.

While many may argue, Glorious glorious is Georgia’s true fight song, most fans admit Long live Georgia as an anthem that gets your team going.

Don’t worry, here is the clip from Fame for each:

lsu. . 529. . Fight for LSU. Fight for LSU. Players. . . 8

A classic fight song. The name is a little unimaginative, but the song’s upbeat melody sets it apart from some others in the SEC.

. War Eagle. 525. aub. War Eagle. 7. . . . Player

War Eagle is a phrase that is said across campus, but less sung when fans fill Jordan-Hare Stadium. It’s a solid fight song, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the songs in the top six.

6. . . . Texas Fight. Texas Fight. 467. . players. ut

Texas Fight is a tried and tested fight song that always gets the crowd excited and increases the energy level of the team. However, the Eyes of Texas (although controversial due to its origin) is always present at DKR.

The Eyes of Texas:

5. tamu. . . Aggie Warsong. . . 535. Aggie Warsong. Player

As intimidating as any fight song. Given Texas A&M’s military roots, the Aggies’ fight song would naturally be called a war anthem. (That’s a little too much hate for the Horns, though.)

uf. . 526. . . Players. . The Orange and Blue. The Orange and Blue. 4

One of the catchiest fight songs in the conference, but not as imposing as the Gators’ desire to break into the top 3 of this ranking. Gives clues to the The White shark theme song.

523. Yes, Alabama. . Yes, Alabama. Players. . . 3. Bama

The drum roll at the beginning is incredible and the song just gets better from there. If you ignore the Tide’s dominant decade in football, the fight song more than deserves a place on the podium.

ark. . . Players. 524. . . Arkansas Fight. 2. Arkansas Fight

The perfect football fight song. It talks about never fearing your opponent, moving the ball down the field and literally says “Rah, rah”. What more could you ask for?

. . . . tenn. Rocky Top. Rocky Top. 1. Player. 534

Probably one of the best battle songs of the nation, Rocky top comes from the Prohibition era and is exactly what you would expect from a stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. Good old Rocky Top.
