Fast food chains are facing customer backlash over rising prices, so some are turning to more affordable prices and special menus. The latest player to enter the fast food price war is Burger King.

Just weeks after announcing the return of the limited-time $5 Your Way Meal, the “Home of the Whopper” finally brought the promotion back on June 10. The offer will be available at participating locations throughout the summer, but the chain has not yet announced a specific end date.

The $5 “Your Way Meal” includes your choice of a Whopper Jr. (330 calories), Chicken Jr. (440 calories) or Bacon Cheeseburger (340 calories), plus a four-serving order of chicken nuggets (190 calories), French fries (300 calories per serving) and a soft drink. All of these items cost just $5.

“Burger King is accelerating its value offerings after leading the industry in value traffic for three quarters. We are bringing back our $5 ‘Your Way Meal’ offer as we agreed with our franchisees in April,” a spokesperson said previously Eat this, not that!

The return of this new value menu will be a direct challenge to a similar offer that McDonald’s announced just a few weeks ago. The latter will launch on June 25 and will remain on menus for a shorter period of time – about a month, according to CNBCSince Burger King’s offer will be available for a longer period of time, it is likely to be even more popular with customers.

The McDonald’s offer includes the choice between a McChicken (400 calories) or a McDouble (400 calories), as well as four Chicken McNuggets (170 calories), French fries (230 calories per small portion) and a drink.

In addition to the $5 Your Way Meal, there are many other fast food offerings currently available. In May, Wendy’s launched a new breakfast menu that starts at $3. The offering includes a small portion of seasoned potatoes (280 calories) and the choice of either a bacon, egg, and cheese English muffin (380 calories) or a sausage, egg, and cheese English muffin (540 calories).
