As the summer movie season progresses, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga continues to win at the worldwide box office. The film by George Miller has now grossed $168 million in theaters worldwide. $102 million of that came from the domestic box office, where the prequel debuted at the top of the box office charts on Memorial Day weekend. This weekend Furious $2.5 million earned from international territories.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga presents Anya Taylor-Joy as the title character, previously portrayed by Charlize Theron In Mad Max: Fury Road. The film tells the story of the warrior who is kidnapped as a young girl and follows her struggle for survival in the hostile environment of the wasteland. The big villain of the film is Dementus (Chris Hemsworth), a dangerous warlord who wants nothing more than to find the land where Furiosa comes from. Unfortunately for him, Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme) continues to expand his rule over the people of the wasteland.

Mad Max: Fury Road grossed $380 million at the worldwide box office when it stormed into theaters nearly a decade ago. Tom Hardy As the title character, the film changed the image of what the franchise could be for a new generation of fans. Fury Road also received several Oscar nominations and won several, including Best Costume Design and Best Film Editing. Unfortunately Furious did not achieve the box office success of its predecessor.

Is “Furiosa” the end of “Fury Road”?

Because of FuriousGiven the low box office returns, it’s unlikely we’ll be returning to the wilderness for another film. Mad Max film any time soon. Hardy recently mentioned that it is unlikely that a sequel to Mad Max: Fury Road not finished at this point. The franchise has been running for decades and delves deep into the dangerous adventures that Max experiences in the wasteland. Although Miller has already planned a possible next installment, only time will tell if Furious will represent the beginning of a new era or the end of a tradition.
