Nicola Peltz tirelessly investigates the sudden death of her dog

Nicola Peltz-Beckham is devastated by the death of her Chihuahua Nala, who died earlier this month after an appointment with the dog groomer – and the actress wants to find out what happened.

“My heart has been broken over the last few months,” Peltz-Beckham, 29, wrote in a statement on her Instagram Story on Saturday, June 22. “This last month in particular has been one of the most painful I have ever experienced. From the death of my Naunni to the shocking and sudden death of my angel Nala – she went to the groomer healthy, came out distraught and died a few hours later – our whole family is devastated.”

Peltz-Beckham’s statement was reposted by the mother-in-law Victoria Beckham via her Instagram story. The former Spice Girl added the caption: “Thinking of you during this difficult time, we love you.” Peltz-Beckham married Victoria’s son, Brooklyn Beckhamin 2022.

Peltz-Beckham said she had received a huge response from people who had had “similarly horrific experiences with their animals and their groomers” and that the stories she shared through her direct messages and in the comments sections had “deeply shocked” her.

“Never in my worst nightmares could I have imagined that other families would experience the same pain and horror,” Peltz-Beckham continued.

“As most of you know, one of my life’s missions has always been to advocate for the safety and welfare of dogs and animals,” she said. “I will work to ensure that something like this never happens to a family again because the pain is unbearable.”

Peltz-Beckham went on to say that she is “relentlessly investigating the situation” to find out “exactly what happened in the groomer’s van,” adding that she is “doing everything in her power to get to the truth.”

“If her death was not the result of a crime, then why is the groomer not cooperating with our investigation – he is not currently cooperating,” Peltz-Beckham said. “Nala was the most amazing, energetic and happy puppy and deserved better than this heartbreaking end.”

Peltz-Beckham and Brooklyn, 25, announced Nala’s death on Instagram on June 16, saying the dog died “unexpectedly” after being picked up by the groomer.

“Dear Nala, we miss you so much,” Brooklyn captioned his post, which included a snap of him and Nala cuddling. “You were taken from us unexpectedly far too soon and I hope others don’t have to suffer the loss after something as simple as a grooming.”

He continued: “You were the sweetest little girl and we will always think of you. We know you are looking down on us and barking x 💔We love you so much and miss you endlessly.”
