England pacer Chris Jordan feels ‘incredible’ after scoring hat-trick against USA

Bridgetown (Barbados), June 23: After taking a hat-trick against the USA in the Super Eights match of the 2024 T20 World Cup, England pacer Chris Jordan said it was an “incredible feeling”.

Jordan led the England bowling attack against the United States, taking four wickets and conceding ten runs at an economy rate of 3.50 in his three-over match.

During the innings break, Jordan said it was good to restrict them, adding that it was special to score a hat-trick in Barbados as it was his birthplace.

He heaped praise on Adil Rashid for setting up the game from the backend.

“It was an incredible feeling (to score the hat trick), it was good to limit them. It’s always nice to score it (the hat trick) in a special place (Barbados – his birthplace). I’m glad I was able to score. Just finished it off towards the end. We read the conditions pretty well, we knew they were going to attack us hard on the power play, the USA have played well in the tournament. Rashid set up the game for us at the back. It’s all about points first and foremost,” Jordan said.

To recap the first innings, after winning the coin toss, England, led by Jos Buttler, decided to play against the United States, and the decision actually went in their favour.

The English bowling attack dominated the game from the very first moment and successfully brought the US batting lineup to 115.

Nitish Kumar (30 runs from 24 balls, 1 four and 2 sixes) was the standout batsman as he scored the most runs among his teammates. However, Kumar’s knock ended in the 11th over when Adil Rashid picked up his wicket.

Corey Anderson (29 runs from 28 balls, 1 six) also tried his best to put some crucial runs on the scoreboard. But Anderson’s knock ended in the 19th over when Chris Jordan bowled a low full toss, after which the US batter tried to hit the ball over long-on, where Harry Brook caught the ball cleanly.

Chris Jordan led England’s bowling attack after taking four wickets and conceding 10 runs at an economy rate of 3.50 in his three-over spell. Sam Curran and Adil Rashid also took two wickets in their respective spells. Reece Topley and Liam Livingstone took one wicket each.

England needs 116 runs to win the game.
