“The Masked Singer” winner Vanessa Hudgens reveals whether she plans to return to the music industry

A winner of “The Masked Singer” has been crowned and the goldfish swims away with the Golden Mask for season 11.

On Wednesday night’s season finale, Gumball and Goldfish battled it out for the win. Gumball sang “Latch” by Disclosure ft. Sam Smith and “Renegade” by Styx, while Goldfish opted for a rendition of “Heart of Glass” by Blondie and an emotional rendition of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” by Elton John.

In a season that saw everyone from Sisqó as Lizard to Chrissy Metz as Poodle Moth to Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard as Beets, this season’s winner could have been anyone. But while actor Scott Porter as Gumball stunned judges Rita Ora, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Robin Thicke, Ora and McCarthy-Wahlberg were spot on with their guess at “High School Musical” singer and actress Vanessa Hudgens.

Speaking to USA TODAY last year, Hudgens assured that there was “definitely no new music” in the works, and despite her win on “The Masked Singer,” she’s sticking to that promise.

The “Bad Boys” star said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly published Wednesday that her musical plans remain the same.

“I always say life is about priorities, and this is just not the top priority right now,” she said. “Who knows? Maybe it will be someday, but right now it’s not a priority.”

The “Princess Switch” actress recalled that her appearance on the series was a long time coming, as the show had asked her “years ago” if she wanted to appear on the show.

“This just came at the perfect time, and my fans had been asking, ‘We want more music, we want vocals, please give it to us,'” she said. “And I thought this would be a really interesting way to give my fans what they want, but make sure they’re really fans. And they are!”

Hudgens also spoke about how her friendship with Ora, who first served as a judge on the American adaptation of the series, made her time on the show difficult.

“We were together about two weeks before the show started and I found out after the fact that she was a judge and I was like, oh God,” she told the outlet. “And then I did my first performance and she guessed it was me and I was like, ‘Well, there go our dinner plans,’ because I can’t sit at a dinner table and stare at her face and not say, ‘Girl.’ But yeah, no, she’s the best.”
