STATEN ISLAND, NY – Rob Hart has a bestselling novel in his hands.

“Assassins Anonymous,” the Stapleton-based author’s latest work, landed among the 150 best-selling books nationwide, according to USA Today’s Best-Selling Booklist. The list, which is based on sales data from independent bookstores, online retailers and bookstore chains, as well as other outlets, reflects combined sales of titles in print and electronic formats.

Hart’s novel, which was released on June 11, landed at number 144.

“This is my first bestseller and it’s an incredible honor,” Hart told Advance/SILive.com. “People seem to be liking the book and I can’t wait to see what happens next.”

He added that several signed copies of “Assassins Anonymous” are for sale at the District’s Barnes & Noble, located in the Staten Island Mall, 2655 Richmond Ave., New Springville.

This is not the first time Assassins Anonymous has received praise: Both the Boston Globe and the Washington Post praised the novel as a summer read, and BookPage and Publishers Weekly gave it stellar reviews. The rights to the novel were acquired last year by Steven Spielberg’s production company Amblin Partners.

“I’ve been in the science fiction and speculation realm for my last few books,” Hart previously told Advance/SILive.com. “With this one, I went for a more straightforward, modern thriller, and people have really responded to that.”

“I’m just really happy that people are reading this.”

The exciting film “Assassins Anonymous” is about the former most dangerous contract killer in the world, who joined a 12-step group for reformed killers. After he is attacked by an unknown person, he goes on the run and tries to find out who is after him – all the while remaining true to his no-kill program.

“Assassins Anonymous” is not the only Hart novel that caught Hollywood’s attention.

“The Paradox Hotel” (2022) was optioned for television by Working Title, a film and television production company owned by Universal Pictures; and the film rights to Hart’s novel “The Warehouse” (2019) were previously sold to Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment.

While Hart was unable to provide specific updates on each project, he did reveal that “exciting things are coming.”

In the meantime, Hart is working on a number of other projects. His next science fiction novel, Dark Space, co-written with critically acclaimed author Alex Segura, is due out in October.

“Assassins Anonymous” is published by GP Putnam’s Sons. It is available in hardback, e-book and audiobook from Barnes & Noble Locations and AmazonFor more information about Rob Hart, visit visit his websiteor follow him on Instagram (@robwhart1) and Twitter (@robwhart).
