From divorcing Elon Musk TWICE to marrying Love Actually star Thomas Brodie-Sangster

She married Love Actually star Thomas Brodie-Sangster in a secret ceremony on Friday.

But Talulah Riley’s love life was turbulent.

On Sunday, it was revealed that Talulah, 38, and Thomas, 34, married in a romantic ceremony, as The Sun obtained photos from the couple’s big day.

However, the couple’s romance came as a shock as her relationship with artist Matthew Rice, 23 years her senior, ended abruptly.

And before that, she had a turbulent on-off relationship with billionaire Elon Musk – from whom she divorced twice and who, as she revealed, was her first real boyfriend.

Talulah married Elon Musk in 2010 after they met in 2008 shortly after his separation from his wife Justine Long.

Talulah and Elon became engaged just ten days after they first met, and she moved with him and his young children into his nearly empty 20,000-square-foot Los Angeles mansion.

They divorced two years later and remarried in 2013. The billionaire filed for divorce in 2014 but then withdrew it. Two years later, Talulah filed for divorce, which was finalized later that year.

The two met at the London nightclub Whisky Mist and Musk courted her by talking about rockets.

Talulah said in the new BBC documentary about their first meeting: “My first impression was that he was very sweet, but he seemed quite shy.”

“He said, ‘Can I put my hand on your knee?’ and I said, ‘Okay, go ahead.’ I thought it was pretty sweet that he asked.”

She continued: “He said, ‘I don’t usually do this, but I’d like to see you tomorrow. Can we meet for breakfast?’ So we had breakfast.

“And at the end of breakfast, he asked if you would come and have lunch with me, so we went to lunch. And then he asked if you would come to dinner.

At the time, Elon said: “We took several months to see if the love would grow through the separation, but unfortunately that was not the case.”

The ill-fated love story between Talulah and Elon almost didn’t happen when she first told her father, Doug Milburn, former head of the National Crime Squad and later writer of police series for television, who he was.

She recalled: “I said, ‘Dad, I met this incredible man who builds rockets.’ (He asked) ‘What’s his name?’ He googled ‘Elon + rocket + electric car’ and angrily exclaimed that Elon was married and had five children.”

He replied, “You were picked up by a playboy. Write to the man and tell him you’re not going to dinner and he’s a complete idiot.”

Talulah continued: “I was sad because I’m usually a very accurate judge of people,” before revealing that she had consulted a friend who had told her that he had already separated from his ex-wife Justine after filing for divorce six weeks earlier.

After her separation from Elon, the actress quietly had a relationship with Matthew Rice, who is 23 years older than her, after Rice divorced ceramic designer Emma Bridgewater, with whom he was married for 30 years, in 2018.

A source said at the time: “Talulah and Matthew have been on and off for a long time, but it seems the romance has fallen by the wayside to make room for Thomas…

“Talulah was with Matthew until the spring and he is still a little shocked and sad that their relationship is over.”

In photos obtained by The Sun, the 38-year-old actress looked sensational in a stunning white dress as she married fellow actor Thomas, 34.

The St. Trinian’s actress married the Game of Thrones and Maze Runner star at St. George’s Church in Anstey, Hertfordshire.

Thomas, who played lovesick child Sam alongside his on-screen father Liam Neeson in the 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually, looked as elegant as ever in his royal blue tuxedo.

He seemed to channel his inner Bridgerton for the occasion as he stepped out in grey pinstripe trousers and a floral waist jacket.

The couple, who met on the set of the Sex Pistols drama “Pistol” on Disney+ in March 2021, were spotted riding off into the sunset in a carriage and lovingly waving goodbye to their guests.

To announce her engagement in 2023, Talulah chose Twitter as the confirmation method.

With a selfie and the words: “I am so happy to announce that Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged after two years of dating!” Thomas posted on Instagram.

Alongside a photo of the duo on a gondola, Thomas wrote: “I am happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged. Love is all around X,” a reference to his most famous role in 2003’s Love Actually, which also features the Troggs’ song “Love Is All Around.”

Thomas and Talulah went public with their romance at the BAFTAs in March last year. Their romance began when the Maze Runner actor starred alongside Talulah in Danny Boyle’s Sex Pistols drama Pistol.

Their relationship remained undiscovered until The Mail On Sunday learned that Talulah’s previous romance with Matthew had ended abruptly.

According to a source, Thomas and Talulah have “purchased a listed mansion in the countryside” together.

While Talulah’s romance with Elon attracted a lot of media attention, Thomas, meanwhile, dated “My Parents Are Aliens” actress Isabella Melling for several years and was in a relationship with musician Gzi Wisdom for two years before finding love with Talulah.

In addition to “Love Actually,” Thomas also enjoyed film success in “Nanny McPhee,” “Nowhere Boy” – in which he played the young Paul McCartney – and “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.”
