Taylor Swift was glad that the staff took action when they received their last Epoch Tour Show to ensure the safety of a fan.

During the pop star’s show on Tuesday, January 18 in Cardiff, Wales, Swift, 34, was performing a mashup of her songs “The Lakes” and “I Hate It Here” during the surprise songs when she paused to point out that a concertgoer needed help. While playing the piano and waiting for someone to come to the person in need, Swift praised the Principality Stadium for how quickly they sprang into action throughout the evening.

“We need some help right in front of me please,” Swift said while quietly playing the piano, according to footage found online. “I’m not going to sing until they get help, but you guys are so amazing and in such a good mood. You really have to thank the Principality Stadium because they’re looking after you so quickly and I love seeing that. We have to look after those amazing people in Cardiff tonight because you’ve been so generous.”

Swift has been constantly concerned about the safety of her fans throughout the Eras Tour. During her June 8 show in Edinburgh, Scotland, the singer interrupted her 10-minute performance of “All Too Well” four times to ask Murrayfield Stadium staff to tend to a section of the crowd that was struggling. The frustrating moment was her second at the venue, as she also had to pause her show the night before to signal that an audience member needed assistance.

“She’s right there. I’m just gonna keep playing until somebody helps them. I’m gonna sing this song,” Swift sang as she strummed her guitar and paused a mashup of her songs “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” and “I Know Places.” She noted that eventually someone would listen to her because she would “keep talking about the subject” until someone responded to her request.

“Just let me know. I can do this all night,” she said. When someone finally found the needy fan, she called out, “Are you OK? Great!” before jumping back into her performance.

Swift’s first Eras The interruption occurred in Philadelphia during their 1989 set in May 2023, when she yelled at a security guard who was harassing a concertgoer. Six months later in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she was focused on making sure fans stayed hydrated during an intense heatwave. (One fan, Ana Clara Benavidestragically died of heat exhaustion before one of the shows.)

“There are people who need water right here, maybe 30, 35, 40 feet back,” Swift said on stage during the Always Set and pointed to a portion of the crowd on the ground. “So whoever is in charge of giving them that, just make sure that happens. Can I get a sign that you know where they are?”
