If there is one person (OK, two people) we don’t want to be today, it’s Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy.

‘Down, bad’

So Taylor has been criticized for her alleged relationship with Matty due to his past controversies, including comments about Ice Spice’s looks and even comments about Tay herself. Now fans believe she’s alluding to that in this new song.

“They’ll say I’m crazy when I talk about your existence,” she sings. Maybe she’s talking about people criticizing her for dating him?

“But dad, I love him”

In this song, she sings about a similar theme, namely wanting to make a relationship work and wanting to love someone despite the criticism of others.

“‘Stay away from her,’ the saboteurs protested too much… No, I’m not coming to my senses, I know it’s crazy, but he’s the one I want,” she sings. Hmm, interesting!

“I can heal him (no, really, I can)”

Another one! In this song, Taylor sings about trying to change a man (we’ve all been there, right?) and mentions him being controversial, smoking, and more. Sounds a bit like Matty if you ask us!

“They shake their heads and say, ‘God help her,’ when I tell them he’s my husband, but the good Lord doesn’t have to lift a finger. I can heal him, no, really I can,” she sings.

‘Fourteen days’

While the lyrics of this song featuring Post Malone aren’t particularly revealing, we do know that Matty and Taylor were only together for a few weeks, which is why fans believe “Fortnight” is about him.

The song is about a short, intense romance. “I love you, it’s ruining my life, I only touched you for two weeks… I call you but you don’t answer, another two weeks lost in America,” she sings.

These are of course all rumors pointing to Matty, as Taylor remains tight-lipped about the inspirations behind her music. What we do know is that we’ll be singing along to these songs on the Eras Tour anyway!
