Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny talks about his ‘epic’ acting debut at Marvel

Puerto Rican pop star Bad Bunny said joining the Marvel franchise “still feels like a dream.”

The singer and rapper, who has been the most streamed musician on Spotify worldwide for the past two years, will play the role of the titular antihero in the film “El Muerto” – a wrestler with a mask with superpowers.

The 28-year-old is the first Latino actor to play the lead role in a Marvel live-action film.

Speaking to British GQ, he said of the role: “I grew up with wrestling; this role is perfect and I know El Muerto is going to be epic.”

“I’m a Marvel fan and the fact that I’m now part of this family still feels like a dream.”

When asked if he felt any pressure when switching from music to acting, he replied: “Maybe it’s different for some people because the higher they climb, the less pressure they feel because maybe they are convinced that whatever they do is going to be a success.”

“But for me it’s the opposite – the more audience I gain, the more I climb, the more pressure I feel to keep going. Sometimes I can’t sleep when I think about it. I don’t sleep for days.”

The musician, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, recently filmed scenes for the upcoming action comedy “Bullet Train,” in which he plays a contract killer alongside Brad Pitt.

He described the Hollywood star as “super hot” and added: “Sometimes, during filming, they would shout ‘Cut!’ and I’d think ‘What the hell? I’m here with Brad Pitt!'”
