As of 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Consumers Energy is reporting more than 4,000 customers without power in the Hudsonville area. These outages are not storm-related. There are isolated other outages reported in the area. You can see the current outages HERE.

If a power outage occurs, Consumers Energy recommends unplugging sensitive electronic devices such as computers, televisions and printers to avoid electrical damage when power is restored.

If you use a generator, Consumers Energy advises never to place it in your basement, garage, or other enclosed space. Keep generators away from air intakes to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to Consumers Energy, people should stay 25 feet away from downed power lines. If you spot a downed power line that is not marked, call 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 1-800-477-5050.
