Mayor Angie Nelson Deuitch proudly announces that Michigan City has received a $4.6 million grant from the Indiana Residential Infrastructure Fund.

The grant, awarded by the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA), represents a significant step forward in the city’s commitment to promoting housing and infrastructure in Michigan City.

“This $4.6 million will help us complete critical infrastructure projects essential to the growth and development of housing in Michigan City,” said Mayor Angie. “Thank you to the Indiana Finance Authority for recognizing our efforts and providing us with the funds we need to improve our community.”

The Indiana Residential Infrastructure Fund supports infrastructure projects to promote housing construction across the state. The IFA prioritizes loan applications from communities with housing-friendly development and awards 70 percent of the funds to communities with fewer than 50,000 residents.

Michigan City is proud to be among the first recipients, underscoring the City’s ongoing commitment to creating a more vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community.
