Who is Seahorse on The Masked Singer? Here are all the clues that it’s this Grammy winner

The identity of Seahorse in season 4 of The Masked Singer has eluded the judges so far, but we here at EW have put on our best super-sleuth hats and think we’ve figured it out. sea here for all the reasons why we believe Seahorse is none other than the two-time Grammy winner and singer-songwriter and American Idol Season 9 semi-finalist, Tori Kelly.

Starting with the first clue package, two dogs, a rainbow frog, and a pigeon are seen sitting together with teacups in front of them. There are several possible clues here. The dogs could be a reference to Kelly’s two puppies Frodo and Dobby, while the rainbow frog is likely a reference to when Kelly sang “Rainbow Connection” with Kermit the Frog during a Disneyland anniversary special. As for the pigeon, Kelly won a Dove Award for her “I’ll Find You” music video. The four animals are sitting in a suspiciously table-like formation, which could be a reference to their time at Disneyland. American IdolAnd what is worse: the animals have tea in front of them, and Kelly likes to throw special tea parties with their fans.

There is a pretty obvious Harry Potter reference involving a warty pig, and Kelly is a known Potterhead (remember her dog Dobby?). Seahorse also mentions a “tug of war” with herself, and her song “Should’ve Been Us” includes the lyric “back and forth like a tug of war.”

The best clue that Seahorse is Kelly, however, comes in the second clue package, when she is pictured on a cart with a crossed-out symbol of a broken smile on it. Her debut album, which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, is called Unbreakable smile. At one point, the package shows a couple of clocks with wings, and Kelly has a song called “Time Flies”. (This Masked Singer Writers are so smart).

Seahorse also talks a lot about how she had a failure early in her career and then “poured my soul out on the page” in her bedroom. According to a 2014 article USA Today Article after Kelly was eliminated on American Idol“She retreated to her bedroom, where she began singing songs into her webcam and posting them on YouTube.”

And that’s not all: We also found a video of Kelly singing the two songs that the seahorse sang Masked Singer. Here Kelly sings “Only Girl (In the World)” by Rihanna and here she sings “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. Both performances are acoustic, so they sound a little different than they do on the show, but there are some definite vocal similarities between the seahorse and Tori Kelly.
