Blue Lock Season 2 reveals opening song in new video

Blue Castle The theme song of the second season has been announced and featured in a new video. The song is called “Boujyaku Charisma” and is sung by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN.

Blue Castle Season 2 is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 5, JST. Season 1 aired during the Fall 2022 anime season and consisted of 24 episodes.

The anime adapts the Blue Castle Manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomurawhich began publication in Weekly Shonen Magazine in August 2018 and will have 29 volumes as of May 2024. Kodansha USA describes the manga as follows:

After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team is struggling to regroup. But what is missing? A top-notch striker who can lead them to victory. The Football Association is determined to create a striker hungry for goals and thirsting for victory who can be the decisive tool to turn a losing game around… and to that end, they have assembled 300 of Japan’s best and most promising young players. Who will emerge as the team’s leader… and will they be able to outdo all those who stand in their way in terms of strength and ego?

There is a spin-off manga titled Blue Castle -Follow Nagi- written by Kaneshiro and drawn by Kota Sannomiyawhich was adapted into an anime film.
