HOLDREGE – A 4-month-old Holdrege girl died June 9 from injuries authorities said were inflicted by her father.

Jason Remmenga, 24, of Holdrege was arrested May 21 after staff at a Kearney hospital contacted police because the victim’s wounds indicated she had been abused, according to court documents. Staff reported the child suffered broken ribs and a brain hemorrhage. The victim was transported to Omaha for further treatment, where doctors concluded her injuries were the result of head trauma due to physical abuse.
