Marjorie Taylor Greene pushes new conspiracy about Biden’s call to Harris’ campaign headquarters

Majorie Taylor Greene’s latest bizarre conspiracy revolved around Joe Biden’s call to the newly renamed Harris campaign headquarters, where he briefly appeared on speakerphone.

The Georgia congresswoman said a minor misstep by Kamala Harris during the phone call was evidence that the vice president “let slip” that the call was a recording.

Greene, along with her Republican colleague and current rival Lauren Boebert, joined the Republican campaign against the president after he surprisingly announced that he would drop out of the race for the 2024 presidential nomination.

Her conspiratorial musings continued on Monday after Harris completed her first full day of campaigning, when she addressed campaign aides in Wilmington, Del. During the speech, Biden remotely called on party members to unite behind his vice president.

“I know yesterday’s news surprised you and was hard for you to hear, but it was the right thing to do,” he said. “The name on the ticket has been changed, but the mission has not changed at all.”

At one point, when the president had finished speaking, Harris turned to him and seemed to falter slightly as she said, “Joe, I know you’re still on the phone… on the phone.”

Greene responded to the slip-up in a Facebook post, reposting a clip of the speech and writing, “‘Joe, I know you’re still recording… the phone call.’ Did Kamala spill the beans? Was it a recording? That’s what she started to say.”

Elsewhere, Colorado Congresswoman Boebert went a step further on Monday, demanding “proof of life” from Biden in response to his lack of public presence.

“I’m demanding proof of life from Joe Biden by 5 p.m. today,” she wrote. “He must go on camera and talk about whether he is aware that he dropped out.”

Greene also described Biden’s announcement on Sunday – which came in the form of a statement posted on X – in typical conspiracy-theoretical language: “There is a soft civil war going on in the deep state and among the power elites,” she wrote.

“The Democrats, the IC and their activists in the media have lied to us for years, claiming that everything is fine with Biden.

“Next they’ll launch a coup against him and demand that he drop out of the race because they can’t hide it any longer.”

Greene also baselessly accused the Bidens of dropping out of the campaign because they had “achieved the price they were asking for for the presidential library, which will benefit the entire family for years to come.”
