Pregnant Hailey Bieber says she is no longer “super close” to her famous family these days

Hailey Bieber speaks openly about her family matters.

In a new interview with W-MagazinThe model, who announced in May that she is expecting her first child with husband Justin Bieber, shared that she is “not particularly close” with her famous family.

“I’m not particularly close to my family right now because I feel very independent,” the Rhodes founder said in an interview with W published on Tuesday. “I am my own individual now and have started my own family.”

Bieber, the daughter of actor and producer Stephen Baldwin and niece of actors Alec, Daniel and William Baldwin, said she had a “pretty normal childhood.”

“Of course, I come from the family I come from and I’ve always recognized that it’s different,” she said. “But when I look back on my childhood and growing up, I have very beautiful, beautiful memories.”

Bieber then addressed the online critics who constantly speculate about her marriage to the pop star on social media.

“People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one,” she explained, before poking fun at the trolls’ hateful words. “‘Oh, they’re breaking up.’ ‘They hate each other.’ ‘They’re getting a divorce.’ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy.”

Although he tied the knot with the “Baby” singer in 2018, Bieber admitted that the criticism “doesn’t hurt any less” over time.

“I always tried to act like it was getting less and less painful. I tried to think that eventually you would get used to people saying that and behaving that way,” she revealed. “But I realize that in reality it never hurts less.”

In May 2023, Bieber shared her fears about having children because social media users can be so negative.

“I literally cry all the time about it,” she said in an interview with The Sunday Times“It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to deal with people saying things about a child.”

“We can only do our best to raise them,” she added. “As long as they feel loved and safe.”
